The Renwick stool is named after The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Arts Museum in Washington, DC. This stool was initially purchased by the Smithsonian in a Ziricote wood in 1974 and to this day is still on permanent exhibition in the Renwick Museum, considered a masterpiece and a superior example of the “American Studio Craft Movement ” shown here in Curly Maple, other woods by request.
